On June 5, 2022 the “Russian Book House” in cooperation with the company “Livr” announced a literary-artistic contest named after Leo Tolstoy for the schoolchildren of Syunik region of Armenia.
The themes of the contest were chosen as the trilogy of the great Russian writer “Childhood”, “Youth” and stories “After the Ball” and “What People Live By”.
Students in grades 6-12 of public, private, additional educational institutions and creative centers participated in the competition. To participate it was necessary to read the original of one of the mentioned works, to write a new story (essay) in Russian on its motives or to draw a picture.
The closing ceremony of literary-artistic contest after Leo Tolstoy was held on December 25, 2022 in the “Russian Book House” in Yerevan.
On the whole 74 pupils from different schools of Syunik Marz participated in the contest, however, the winners were 15 (7 pupils drew pictures, 8 pupils wrote essays). The works of all the participants were checked and evaluated by all the members of the jury.
The winners came to Yerevan with their teachers and parents.
The jury selected the first, second and third prize winners by voting.
A concert with the participation of an ethnic jazz band “Tiezerk” was organized for students, teachers and all guests after the evaluation.
This was followed by the official part of the event – the announcement of the winners and the awarding ceremony.
The winners received money certificates, books and booklets with their works.
Distinguished guests of the event were the representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Armenia.
