Seminar about Victor Vasnetsov

The “Russian Book House” hosted a discussion over coffee about Viktor Vasnetsov, an artist known to many since childhood for his fairytale scenes.
Vasnetsov became the founder of the Neo-Russian style, stood at the origins of Art Nouveau in Russian art and revived folk traditions. He dreamed of great art, which will permeate all human life, created not only paintings, but even furniture and crockery. Vasnetsov had brilliant architectural and theatre projects, and he even played Grandfather Frost in Savva Mamontov’s home opera.
Together with art historian and museum teacher Anastasia Ignatushchenko, the attendees got acquainted with Vasnetsov’s iconic works and discovered the artist from a new side.
